Glasgow & Glasgow, LLP is the general, laparoscopic, and surgical weight loss practice of Arthur Glasgow, M.D. and Adam Glasgow, M.D., a father and son team of board certified surgeons.  It is our aim to make the experience of consulting a surgeon or having an operation as easy as possible for the patient and the patient’s family or significant other.

We are particularly experienced in laparoscopic procedures such as laparoscopic appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colectomy, and incisional hernia repair.  We do almost all of our groin hernia repairs by the video endoscopic properioneal approach and we do stapled hemorrhoidectomies.  In November of 2005 we began doing Lap-Band System Surgery for people who are morbidly obese.  That program has been a big success.  We are gratified by how many patients we have helped with substantial and sustained weight loss.

Helping people through their illnesses and making them feel better or be healthier gives us a great sense of satisfaction.  We like the challenge of solving diagnostic problems and finding ways to explain medical and surgical issues in ways that our patients or their significant others can understand.  We particularly enjoy doing this for children and adolescents.

Our philosophy is that the patient “is always right” and we listen to them.  We give them whatever time it takes for them to tell us what is bothering them or for them to be comfortable with us.  Our staff has been selected because they share these values and complement what we do.  They have been with us for years.

Our inherent curiosity drives us to learn what is new and challenges us to refine what is old so we can do the best job of taking care of our patients.  We are each other’s operating assistant as often as possible because we care deeply about each other and, just as we listen to our patients, we listen to and advise each other during operations.  When patients have complex problems we discuss them.  We know each other’s patients and look in on them at the hospital or at the office.
